Easter concert and lighting of Paschal fire at Parliament Buildings

Easter concert and lighting of Paschal fire at Parliament Buildings

The Bishop of Down and Dromore, the Right Revd David McClay (sponsored by Phillip Brett, MLA), will host a special Easter concert on Wednesday 27th March from 7.30–8.30pm in the Great Hall, Parliament Buildings.

The concert will include prayers for the new Assembly and look forward with hope and expectation that the love of God and good news brought to Ireland by Patrick will impact the whole island once again.

Kergyma cross–community choir and special guest Dana, will perform songs of reconciliation and blessing including the new song Light the Fire, written to mark the Paschal (Easter) fire lit by Saint Patrick on the hill of Slane in 433AD.

Following the concert, a symbolic Paschal fire will be lit on the steps of Parliament Buildings and Bishop David, along with other church leaders, will pray for the Assembly and for those in positions of influence in our society.

Guests from across political parties, civic institutions and churches will be in attendance.
