CHURCH OF IRELAND HOUSE (DUBLIN)
Church House in Rathmines is a late 1960's building,
typical of the times, and now in need of upgrading to meet modern
standards including more stringent health, safety and fire regulations
as well as the demands of the information technology era. All this will
change when a major refurbishment programme planned to commence in the
near future has completed. It is expected that the work will last
approximately six months during which period the offices of the
Representative Church Body and other users of the building will relocate
to the former Nurses Home at the Royal Hospital at Donnybrook where
temporary facilities will be made available.
Alternative arrangements are being made to
accommodate the many committees which normally meet in Church House.
Members of these committees will be advised of these arrangements in due
course and it is hoped to minimise inconvenience for all concerned.
Plans include provision for access to Church House
by disabled persons, the installation of a lift and improved boardroom
and canteen facilities in addition to cabling, heating, lighting
improvements and general all round upgrading of the working environment
for staff and visitors. |
