| Following a public launch by the Archbishop of Dublin, Dr. Walton
Empey, in the presence of the new Lord Mayor of Dublin, Mary Freehill,
the Representative Church Body Library's exhibition on the churches of
inner city Dublin, is now open six days a week in Dublin Civic Museum.
The exhibition has been arranged by the Representative Church Body Library
in Dublin which is the library of the Church of Ireland and the Church's
principal archive repository. The text of the exhibition is based on the
book The Dublin City Churches Revisited which was written by
Maurice Craig and Henry Wheeler and published by the APCK in
1948. Additional text has been written to bring the story up to date.
The Text is illustrated with archives, manuscripts, prints, photographs
and printed material almost exclusively from the collection of the RCB
Library.
Dublin City Churches is a celebration of the culture and
heritage of buildings, and their communities, which have become integral
parts of the streetscape and skyline of Dublin.
The exhibition has been sponsored by the Heritage Council, the
Ecclesiastical Insurance Office and the Representative Church Body.

Civic Museum, 58 South William Street, Dublin 2 (beside the Powerscourt
Town House) until the end of *September.
*By popular demand the exhibition has been
