SYNOD AFFIRMS STATEMENT ON REFERENDA

The General Synod of the Church of Ireland has passed a motion in the name of Dr A Acheson and The Reverend D C Kerr with regard to the referenda. It says: That the General Synod, in the light of the Agreement reached in the recent multi-party talks, calls on our Church of Ireland people, in both jurisdictions, prayerfully to consider and conscientiously to determine their response to the choice before them in the referenda to be held on 22 May 1998. |
