- Readers should complete an application form on their first visit to the Library and thereafter sign the register each day on which they visit the Library.
- Smoking is prohibited in all parts of the Library building.
- The consumption of food and drink in the reading rooms is prohibited.
- Mobile telephones are prohibited in the reading rooms.
- Cameras and scanning equipment are prohibited in the reading rooms unless prior permission has been obtained from the Library staff.
- Readers may not use pens but may use pencils or laptop computers.
- Readers may not write on, or in any other way deface or mutilate archives and manuscripts.
- Readers may not trace from archives and manuscripts.
- Readers may not lean on or unnecessarily handle archives and manuscripts. Reading stands and supports should be used as appropriate.
- Collections of loose papers should be kept and returned in the order in which they are delivered to readers.
- Readers may not remove archives and manuscripts from the reading rooms.
- Readers are responsible for archives and manuscripts until they inform a member of the Library staff that they have finished with them.
- Archives and manuscripts will not be delivered to readers after 16.30 hours.
- Permission to reproduce archives and manuscripts must be sought in advance in writing
- Violation of the regulations may result in exclusion from the Library.
