Webmaster Technical Information
To log into an FTP account, you will need to enter the following information into your FTP client to connect to the server:
Host Address: ftp.domainname
(e.g. ftp.ahoghill.connor.anglican.org)
Port: 21 (default value - may not have to be entered)
Username: As advised by the Webmaster
Password: And its corresponding password
Most FTP clients use a wizard to connect to the remote host of your website, below are some sample screenshots displaying how to configure two common FTP clients, CuteFTP and WS-FTP .
NOTE THAT FILES MUST BE LOADED INTO THE "HTDOCS" FOLDER
Example in Cute FTP:
Step 1:
Enter Host Name (as supplied) and a site name.
Step 2
Enter Username and Password (as supplied)

Step 3
Define a local folder (the area on your PC that you hold your development site) and optionally you can define a remote folder. Since all files MUST be loaded into the htdocs folder, it is recommended that this folder be defined.

Step 4
Click on finish to begin to use CuteFTP.

Example in WS-FTP:
Step 1:
Click on Create Site.
Step 2
Enter a site name

Step 3
Enter your Host name (as supplied)
Step 4
Enter your Username and Password (as supplied)
Click Finish.
Step 5
Highlight the name of your site, and click 'Connect'
You are now connected to your website's remote host with WS-FTP
