The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, with Marina Bradley, Florence Miller and Alana Gibson at the Jordanstown Lent talk. The ladies are all members of St John’s, Whitehouse.

Talks have already taken place in Dunluce Parish Centre, Bushmills; St Patrick’s Church Halls, Jordanstown, and in Christ Church, Lisburn.

On each occasion there has been upwards of 150 people from different parishes in attendance.

In his talk, Bishop Alan looked at contrasting attitudes within the church to this ministry and highlighted some Biblical reflections, looked at healing and the Kingdom of God, suggested some ways we can seek help in this area, and shared his own thoughts on the Ministry of Healing.

At each event there was time for refreshment and fellowship as people enjoyed the opportunity to get together.

Bishop Alan’s Lent series continues with Healing Services on Tuesday March 5 in St John the Baptist, Bushmills; Monday March 11 in St Patrick, Jordanstown; and Tuesday March 19 in Christ Church, Lisburn. All services begin at 7.30pm
