Opening of Midleton School Extension
L– R: Ms Elma Huggard, School Principal, Mrs Daphne Spillane, (Chairperson of the Board of Management), Minister Quinn, Bishop Paul Colton, Minister of State, Sean Sherlock, T.D.

The Minister for Education and Skills, Mr Ruairi Quinn, T.D. returned to Midleton on 22nd November just over a year after he viewed the foundations of the now completed six classroom extension.

During a day of celebration for the school the extension was dedicated by the Bishop, the Right Reverend Dr Paul Colton, and opened by the Minister. The Dean of Cloyne, the Very Reverend Alan Marley, who is also on the school Board of Management, led a Service of Thanksgiving in the Parish Church of St John the Baptist nearby, at which the Bishop presided.

Ms Elma Huggard, School Principal, said that it was an exciting and proud day for everyone in the school community.
