Added on 10/03/2014

Revd Malcolm FerrySt Augustine’s in Londonderry, known affectionately as ‘the wee church on the walls’ is celebrating the appointment of a new Rector. The appointment of Revd Malcolm Ferry was announced on Sunday 9 March at Services in St Augustine’s and All Saints Clooney.

The Revd Malcolm Ferry is currently the Rector of Waterside Parish, All Saints Clooney. Speaking of his appointment he said, ‘I am delighted to continue serving the people of a city that I have come to love. My years working with the people of All Saints Clooney have been really fulfilling and happy. However I am looking forward to the fresh opportunities of working with the parishioners of St Augustine’s and to the future.’

Bishop Ken Good said, ‘Malcolm brings great creativity and experience to his new role in St Augustine’s. He has shown a real commitment to engaging with the local community in Clooney and leaves that parish well placed for the future. We are very encouraged by the energy and commitment our parishes bring to the life of this city and I look forward to the contribution that Malcolm and the St Augustine’s family are going to make to that.’

Malcolm is married to Carol who is a qualified pharmacist. They have three children, James, Sarah and Rebekah. Before his move to Clooney he served as Rector of Castlerock. Prior to his theological training in the Church of Ireland Theological College and ordination in 1996 he had a successful business career with Moy Park.
