The Church of Ireland’s Historical Centenaries Working Group held a successful discussion event, considering the experiences of Dubliners at the time of the Easter Rising, in Christ Church Cathedral last night.
Over 200 people attended the event which was addressed by Dr Jason McElligott (Keeper of Marsh’s Library, Dublin) and Dr Fearghal McGarry (Queen’s University Belfast), and chaired by historian and broadcaster Dr John Bowman. An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD, First Minister of Northern Ireland Arlene Foster MLA, and the British Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Dominick Chilcott, were among the audience.
