From the Most Revd Dr Michael Jackson, Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough:
God, we turn to you in our hearts and in our minds, praying for ourselves and for others known and unknown, in these days and hours of anxiety for the world of your creation and of our inhabiting.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in circumstances that promised little, we pray now for hope in our hearts and peace in our minds.
We give to you our neighbours and our loved ones for safekeeping. We commit to you the best of our care and protection of one another as we learn the power of love in distance and the strength of patience in separation.
As Christmas shines its light on the year 2020, we pray that we will follow you the true light that shines in the darkness and guides us in the way of peace. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ the child of Bethlehem.
