Cork Pride Service of Remembrance held in St Anne’s Church, Shandon

As part of the Cork Pride Festival 2021, a service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving was held in St Anne’s, Shandon on Thursday 29th July. This annual service is a space within pride week to stop, remember, and give thanks for those who have journeyed with the LGBTQ+ Community both in Cork and further afield over the years.

Stephen Spillane, who also read the prayers at the service, said: “Love was a central theme of the service and this was shown both with readings, from the First Letter of St John read by John Buttimer (Cork Pride), and the words from the Rev Paul Robinson during the service. A candle was also lit by John Sheridan during the service to remember all those who have gone before us.”
