Motion Dealing With Cooptees to Standing Committee Passed

A motion to amend the Constitution of the Standing Committee to remove the automatic renomination of previously coopted members was passed by General Synod in Wexford this morning (Saturday May 13).

Motion No 7 was proposed by Canon Gillian Wharton who asked that there be no automatic renomination for cooptees and that they would have to be proposed and seconded afresh. She said that this brought nominations to Standing Committee into line with other committees.
