Drug awareness podcast with Jono Pierce
The Revd Jono Pierce has been podcasting ‘Bitesize Chunks of Faith’ since March 2021 and his latest episode features an interview with Fiona Spargo–Mabbs and the work of the Daniel Spargo–Mabbs foundation which raises drug awareness among young people.
The Foundation was set up to honour the memory of Fiona’s son Daniel who died tragically after taking MDMA (ecstasy) at a rave 10 years ago. The charity runs a drugs awareness programme in schools and had a play commissioned which is now on the GCSE curriculum in England. They are expanding their work into Northern Ireland and this episode may be of special interest to teachers and youth workers.
Fiona is a woman of incredible faith, and this has driven the work of this foundation though it is not a faith–based charity. She shares Dan’s story in this very powerful and often heartbreaking conversation.
