Submitting draft Bills for General Synod
Guidelines for members intending to submit Bills to the General Synod
Members of General Synod who intend to submit a Bill are invited to submit a draft to the Honorary Secretaries (honsecs@ireland.anglican.org) by Wednesday, 31st January 2024. Proposers and seconders will be invited to attend an informal meeting, which is scheduled for 4.30p.m. on Wednesday, 7th February, and comments will be provided on the draft.
Bills can then be redrafted, taking the comments of the members of the Bills Committee into consideration, and resubmitted for the final meeting of the Bills Committee, which generally takes place before the end of March. The date, when set, will be posted on the General Synod website.
