Synod Passes Motion to Close CofI AVC Schemes
A Motion which will approve the closure of the Church of Ireland Voluntary Contributions Schemes and the transfer of all monies in the schemes to the pension providers for the Clergy Defined Contribution Pension Schemes was proposed at General Synod this afternoon (Saturday May 11). The Motion also authorises the Trustee and the RCB to proceed to wind up the AVC Schemes.
Proposing the Motion, Robert Neill explained that it gave effect to the contents of Bill No 9 which was presented to Synod yesterday.
The Motion was passed by Synod.
