Summer organ recitals at St Fin Barre’s Cathedral, Cork

Organ recitals at St Fin Barre’s Cathedral, Cork, are held every Friday lunchtime during the month of August.  Everyone is welcome and admission on the door is €10.  Each will begin at 1.10pm.

This series will begin on Friday, 2nd August, with Judit Máté from St Michael’s Church, Dún Laoghaire, performing works by Hungarian composers, Stanford and Andrew Synott.

On the following Friday, 9th August, Carole O’Connor from Whitefriar Street Church, Dublin, will play works by Bach, Liszt and Langlais.

Stuart Nicholson, from St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, will perform works by Parry, Whitlock, Vierne and Stanford on Friday, 16th August.

The recitals continue with Jack Wilson, from St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, on Friday, 23rd August, with works by American composers: Dan Locklair, Leo Sowerby and Charles Ives.

Peter Thompson, from St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh, will bring it to a conclusion on Friday, 30th August, for a recital including works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Vierne and Howells.
