RCB Library Notes
Cork Register Published
Last Sunday, after Evensong in St Fin Barre’s Cathedral, the Bishop of Cork, the Rt Revd Paul Colton, launched the twelfth volume in the RCB Library’s parish register series. The Register of the Cathedral Church of St Fin Barre, Cork, 1753-1804 has been edited by the Cork historian, Dr Alicia St Leger, who is a parishioner of St Fin Barre’s.

The original registers of baptisms, marriages and burials of St Fin Barre’s were destroyed in the fire in the Public Record Office of Ireland in 1922. Fortunately they had been transcribed by the noted Cork antiquary, Richard Caulfield, and it is his transcription that Dr St Leger has prepared for publication.
The register is available from the RCB Library (E-mail) and for the St Fin Barre’s cathedral shop @ €20 + postage.
