The newly elected Literature Committee has met for the first time. Dr Kenneth Milne was elected as Chairman and Dr Raymond Refausse as Honorary Secretary. It was agreed that the Chairman and the Honorary Secretary would represent the Committee on the Central Communications Board.
Progress was made on re-configuring the work of the Committee to more accurately reflect its core objectives:-
- identifying gaps in published material both within the Church of Ireland and in relation to the Church's interaction with the wider world
- supporting the publication agenda of church committees
- liaising with representatives of committees and other publishing interests
Renewed consideration is being given to the feasibility of establishing a Church of Ireland publishing imprint.
The Committee has continued the work of its predecessor in evaluating applications for grants form the General Synod Royalties Fund.
