Top hymn–writer to fly the banner for St Canice’s

Fans of contemporary Christian music are in for a treat when the great Graham Kendrick takes to the stage in Waterside Theatre in Londonderry for a special fundraiser in aid of St Canice’s Parish Church in Eglinton. The event, ‘An Evening with Graham Kendrick’, is part of the artist’s UK–wide ‘Flying the Banner High’ tour.
Kendrick is one of contemporary Christian music’s most prolific composers, having released dozens of albums and written hundreds of hymns, including favourites such as ‘The Servant King’, ‘Meekness and Majesty’ and, most notably, the hugely successful ‘Shine, Jesus, Shine’.

Fellow songwriter Stuart Townend says: “I have no doubt that in one hundred years’ time, the name of Kendrick will be alongside Watts and Wesley in the list of the UK’s greatest hymnwriters.”

Local fans of modern Christian music can judge for themselves whether Townend’s confidence is misplaced or not. ‘An Evening with Graham Kendrick’ will begin at 8pm in the Waterside Theatre on Thursday 19th March.

Tickets cost £15 and can be booked online here
