Pray for our link diocese of Albany
We pray especially today for our link diocese of Albany in New York State which has so far seen the highest rate of confirmed cases of Covid–19 of any state in the US.
Normal worship is of course suspended, but parishes are active online and each Sunday, a new recorded sermon and celebration of Holy Communion can be found on the Albany diocesan website here.
Our prayers for the people of Albany Diocese are based on Bishop Bill’s latest pastoral letter:
– Pray for an abundance of grace, faith and patience in this unprecedented time.
– Pray that God would empower each person to show true Christian love and charity to their neighbours during this time of illness, uncertainty, and disruption to normal day to day life.
– Tensions are high and people are stressed. Pray that the Lord would bring peace to those who are fearful and anxious.
– Pray that God would use his people the Church, to be a channel of His love and mercy and healing grace to the broken and hurting world around them.
– Pray for Bishop Bill as he leads the diocese. We ask that God would build his Church in these days as it proclaims the gospel message and that many would come to faith.
– Pray for frontline and health workers across the state. That God would equip and strengthen them for their task.
