Let’s Sing!

Bishop David McClay introduces a new video series where we invite singers and musicians from around the diocese to share their favourite song or hymn with us.

"As we return to worship in our church buildings but are still not allowed to sing, I want us to keep at the very top of our priorities and values the ministry of worship in music and song.

"As a diocese we are blessed in having a wide spectrum of musical talent ranging from traditional choirs through to worship groups and soloists.

"Let’s find ways to celebrate this important aspect of our church’s life and tradition and keep it at the very top of our agenda, remembering that the Lord inhabits the praises of his people.

"I hope you find this series a real encouragement and alongside this, while we are not allowed to sing, may I encourage you to read from the book of Psalms daily. The Psalmist clearly understood the importance of worshipping in music and song."

Susannah Harris from St Mary's, Ballybeen, introduces and performs one of her favourite hymns. When Peace Like a River by Horatio Gates Spafford.
