Director of Music – Whitechurch (Diocese of Dublin)

Whitechurch Parish wishes to recruit a Director of Music.  Duties to include:–

  • Direct all worship music and Choir for 10.30am Sunday service.  (Rehearsals currently occasional Sunday mornings prior to 10.30am Service).
  • Available for occasional extra services, such as during Holy Week, Evening Harvest, Youth and Carol Services.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Coordinate with the Rector to select music to be performed.
  • Submit requests for music resources to the Rector for approval.
  • Observe all safety and security requirements
  • Monitor church musical instruments and advise the Rector of any needed repair, preventative maintenance, or replacement.
  • Recruit and train choir members.
  • Organise and direct informal efforts to familiarise the congregation with new and alternative music as required.
  • Possess high competence in all aspects of vocal keyboard/piano/organ.
  • Ability to play other instruments an advantage but not essential.
