Environmental Charter

The Church of Ireland’s Environment Charter, approved by General Synod in 2015, asks all parishes to play their part in the stewardship of God’s creation, locally, nationally and internationally. The Charter covers:

• recognising and reducing waste;
• increasing environmental awareness across parishes;
• exercising leadership through environmental responsibility;
• identifying spiritually and practically with the developing world; and
• influencing policy.

Prayer for decision–makers and people impacted by environmental issues is encouraged to be at the heart of the Church’s response.
