The General Synod Board of Education (Republic of Ireland) welcomed this opportunity to make a submission on this current review of the role, function and operation of the School Transport Scheme.
As the recognised management body for Boards of Management for primary schools under Church of Ireland patronage, observations made in this submission relate to the operation of the School Transport Scheme at primary level. However, much of the observations are equally applicable to the operation of the scheme at post–primary level also.
